I was on a conference in The Hague (Den Haag). Fortunately, in the two evenings there I managed to skip a social event and find the local (summer) skiing by visiting the De Uithof sports complex in Utrecht Science Park. Among other facilities there's an indoor ski slope. Length is 177 meters, and the starting altitude is 0.4 meters under the sea level :-) Small slope but with a kick. And by kick I mean a turn. I had fun!
Here is why I was here, the conference:
There was a button lift to take the skiers to the top. Indeed the turn on the slope was the most fun part. The turn was nearer the top where the slope is narrower, and at the bottom on the wider slope there were jumps and a beginner area.
The turn is very visible on the Google Maps satellite picture:
One hour skiing with equipment rentals costs 19,50€.
More information can be found from the facility's official page listed above, or from Wikipedia here.
On this trip I also visited a spa, see here (alt. link).
